How to Teach a Toddler to Talk

Online Course

I know you desperately want your child to talk.

I’ve experienced how heartbreaking it is to have a child in your family who can’t communicate. You want to know their thought and feelings, but you can’t because of their speech delay. You want to help them but feel lost and overwhelmed, not knowing the best steps to take.

On top of that, speech therapy is expensive, insurance can be complicated, and waitlists can be as long as 12 months. You may feel helpless and lay awake at night, worrying about your little one not knowing how far behind they are or how to help them.

How many words should your child use?

  • 12 Months =2-6 words
    (other than “mama” and “dada”)
  • 15 Months =10 words
  • 18 months =50 words
  • 24 Months =200-300 words
  • 30 Months=450 words
  • 36 Months =1,000 words

Curriculum

Learn what cognitive skills are essential for speech development in young children. Watch me work with kids and parents to see how to help your child become more socially engaged. This lesson is especially crucial for children who are at-risk or diagnosed with Autism.

Before children can use words, they must first understand concepts. Learn what types of receptive language skills to look for in your child and see how to strengthen these areas by watching me perform speech therapy with toddlers.

Learn how to encourage your child to copy what you do and what you say! Watch how I teach these skills in speech therapy with my clients.

If your child is struggling to use words and is highly frustrated, using sign language is an excellent temporary solution. See how teaching sign language in 3 stages has been successful with my clients.

Now, imitation is an exciting part of the process but does not come effortlessly for all children. Use my approach with four strategies during engaging activities for a more successful learning process with your child.

Independent speech is an important development, learn my approach with a three-step process to encourage your toddler to say words on their own more effectively. In the end, you’ll learn what next steps to take, and in a BONUS video, I’ll answer several commonly asked questions.

Must cost a fortune, right?

Nope!

Let me put the cost in perspective. My three and a half hour course is cheaper than many would charge for only ONE hour of private speech therapy (up to $300 per hour).

My course includes the material I’d typically cover in 6 months of in-person therapy. All that time in private treatment would cost thousands, and not everyone can afford that.

That’s why I’m excited to offer this video course with a payment plan of $33 per month for six months.

That’s significant savings! Usually, my course is $299 total, but in celebration of 650 students enrolled worldwide, I’ve lowered the price to a total of $198 ($190 if you pay-in-full today). So register now with this special discounted price so you can instantly access all the material and save thousands of dollars over private speech therapy!

Frequently Asked Questions

The full course is available NOW! It's a self-paced online course - you decide when you start and when you finish.

After enrolling, you have one year of access to this course, which is plenty of time for the majority of students, but if you need more time, just sent me an email, and I'll be happy to give you an extension.

For best results, use this course in addition to working in-person with a qualified Speech-Language Pathologist. This course is designed to accompany in-person speech therapy by providing general education.

This course is about 3.5 hours of video education that is broken up into small, achievable chunks.

This course is best for children between the ages of 12 months and five years of age. Lessons 1, 2, and 3 specifically go through younger developing skills that are essential to the other speech skills to develop.

YES! This course is excellent for children who have a below-average vocabulary size. For words to count as vocabulary, they should be words that are used independently and not repeated directly after an adult. Vocabulary words are typically used regularly, and so words that were used in the past or only once or twice do not count. I usually don't count "ABC's" or numbers as words because they are not functional terms to get wants and needs met.

Cancellations and refunds are not offered. Please reach out to Kayla if you have a question about the course. kayla@walkietalkiespeechtherapy.com

YES! This course covers essential techniques that apply to children at-risk or diagnosed with Autism. Lessons 1 and 2 are geared directly towards these types of children.

Yes. In the course I speak directly to the parents so professionals can learn how to use "parent-friendly" language when educating them on how to help their child at-home. Many speech therapists, ABA therapists, and teachers have enrolled in my course and found it very beneficial to their practice.

Yes, YOU can help your toddler.

You can learn to help your child with my simple step-by-step process. No qualifications necessary; just follow my steps.

My techniques won’t take much extra time to learn or implement since most of the methods will naturally fit into your daily routines. Still, by tweaking what you are already doing, you can make your time more effective for language learning than ever before.

Additionally, by implementing even just 15 minutes per day using my suggested activities, you’ll connect with your child on a deeper level and can see amazing social and language results in a short matter of time.

Why wait? Start today!

YOU need to know what to do, and your child desperately needs to communicate with you.

Choosing to “wait and see” if your child catches up on their own or waiting until a spot opens up on the long clinic waitlist means precious time wasted.

Don’t let your child needlessly continue in frustration and anxiety without a way to communicate, when you could be starting my video course now.

You can immediately start implementing impactful strategies that can help alleviate stress and frustration for you and your child while opening up the pathway for communication and connection.
