No-Pressure Modeling

For your child to learn sign language, YOU are going to have to learn to sign. In this lesson I introduced the first ten signs I would like you to learn. These signs are selected to help give you and your child relief as quickly as possible in terms of communication. You may also find that tantrums and negative behaviors start decreasing as they are able to express themselves.

You need to select three signs and start using them, when appropriate, with your child. I use a no-pressure approach to teaching sign language to toddlers, so for the first week you are only going to show the signs and not try to get them to copy you. Your child may just start copying you on their own! The first ten signs are as follows:

The signs are all in your workbook and I want to encourage you to print them out and stick them up on your fridge.
